A Complete Guide to GentleMax Pro Plus Hair Removal Treatments (Final)
A series that covers everything about laser hair removal
This is the third and final installment.
If you found the previous two posts difficult to read, this time...
We’ve included easy-to-understand explanations along with real-life examples.
First, a scene of a hair removal treatment that looks refreshing just to watch
I'll be on my way.

Hello, I’m Director Seo Min-ho.
This is the third and final installment of the hair removal series!!
In Part 1, I’ll discuss, and
In Part 2, we’ll analyze the results of the procedure based on.
In Part 3, we'll cover the actual procedure,
Let's take a closer look at the best hair removal methods using before-and-after photos.
(The last two posts might be a little difficult to follow, so feel free to just read Part 3!)
1. 제모 전 고려해야 할 요소
Factors to consider before starting hair removal are
There are three in total.
"Hair thickness, density, and skin tone"
1) 모발의 굵기
Hair thickness varies.
The thicker the hair, the larger the hair follicle, and
As explained in Part 1, the laser pulse width needs to be longer.
Also, the worst thing about them being thick is... they hurt more...
That's why hair removal is much more painful for men than for women.
As hair removal continues, the hair tends to become thinner and thinner.
Furthermore, since even the same person may have hair of varying thickness, rather than setting a fixed pulse width,
Sometimes I set the pulse width to a shorter duration to focus on removing fine hair, and
Sometimes it’s best to set the pulse width to a longer duration to target a few thick hairs that are hard to remove.
(You can think of it as the same principle as when we clean: while we mainly use a vacuum cleaner, we also need a damp mop and a brush for cleaning in crevices.)
2) 모발의 밀도
Hair density refers to how thick the hair is.
A characteristic of people with thick beards is that even after shaving, their stubble remains hazy, like dark clouds.
When hair density is high, increasing the intensity causes thermal energy to be transferred to adjacent hair follicles, so causing burnsand other side effects, includingburns.
Therefore, hair density is an important factor in determining strength.
3) 피부톤
Fitzpatrick Scale. A chart that classifies skin tones into six categories.
It is very difficult for Hispanic and Black individuals with skin types 5 and 6 listed above to undergo hair removal.
(The laser works by targeting the dark pigment in hair, but since the melanin in the skin is the same dark pigment, it reacts as well...)
Since most Koreans have skin types 3 or 4, most people are eligible, but occasionally, those who have tanned cannot undergo hair removal.
The darker the skin tone, the more heat energy is transferred to the normal skin tissue—rather than the hair, which is our target—so
To minimize side effects, you should proceed at a lower intensity.(It is best to increase the intensity gradually while monitoring the skin’s reaction.)
2. 제모를 하면 개선되는 요소
Now, there are a total of threeare.
"Hair thickness, density, and growth rate"
1) 모발의 굵기
This is a factor to consider when starting the hair removal process described above, and hair thickness is a factor that is commonly included among the factors that improve.
As you undergo repeated hair removal treatments, the hair will naturally become thicknessbecomes thinner, and, accordingly, the intensity of the treatment must be gradually increased.
2) 모발의 밀도
Hair density is also a factor to consider during the procedure and one that can be improved.
Therefore, as hair decreasesdecreases, and the strength must be increased accordingly.
3) 모발의 자라는 속도
People with thick beards shave once a day—or twice a day.
However, as the hair removal treatments continue, the rate of hair growth gradually slows down, and
(To be precise, beard hair whose follicles have already been destroyed will not grow back, and since the hair that was in the resting phase grows back much later, it just seems like it’s growing in late...)
Eventually, you'll reach a point where even if you shave only once every one or two weeks, it won't be noticeable.
Every morning, it's a battle with the razor...
In fact, everyone has probably experienced nicks, post-shave irritation, or folliculitis at least once, especially when they’re still half-asleep.
With laser hair removal, you can be free from this pain.
3. 실제 시술 전후사진

1) 제모 시술을 8회 받으신 분

직경, 펄스폭 ,강도 각 20mm, 5ms, 12J로 시작했고
She was very satisfied with the results of each procedure, and
I did not increase the intensity aggressively because I had mild folliculitis after the procedure.
5회차 이후부터는 눈에 띄게 얇아진 털이 보여 펄스폭을 줄여 얇은 털을 더 집중 공략 했습니다.
Starting with the 8th session, when the treatment area changed, you can see that the amount of hair has decreased and the folliculitis has cleared up .
Below are the results. (These photos were taken before the procedure, so they show the results after the 7th session.)

2) 제모시술을 5회 받으신 분-1

Since I already had some skin issues around my mouth, I was worried that I might be more likely to develop folliculitis.
However, since they handledwere handled well, so I didn’t experience any major discomfort.
*For your information, this is a Tetonam patient who does not wish to receive anesthesia.*
We proceeded by gradually increasing the intensity to accommodate the decreasing hair volume.
Here are the results. (These photos were taken before the procedure, so they were taken after the fourth session was completed.)

3) 제모시술을 5회 받으신 분-2

Since there are no special circumstances, we'll start at the usual intensity.
However, there is a period during which I have to maintain it because I have folliculitis.
5회차 진단시에는 입술 양 끝의 깊게 박힌 털이 남아있어 이에 맞도록 펄스폭을 더 올려 시술을 진행했습니다.

4. Q&A
Now I’ll answer some frequently asked questions.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to leave a comment, and I will personally provide a detailed response.
Q1. Does laser hair removal provide permanent hair removal?
The answer to this is, first of all, NO. This is because hair does not grow back from hair follicles destroyed by laser hair removal, but separately, men’s beards continue to grow new and continues to grow throughout their lives.
To give a simple example, if you look at the beards and mustaches of older men, you can see that they keep growing.
Another example is that, compared to adolescence when facial hair first starts to grow, as men enter their 20s and 30s, their facial hair gradually thicker and more abundant.
Still, since all of this is caused by the influence of male hormones, I actually
I explain that when new fur keeps growing, that’s a sign of good health...! Hahaha(Nothing in this world has only downsides!)
Q2. When should I shave before my hair removal appointment?
That's a good question. First of all, the answer is "as close to the procedure as possible."
When lasers were first introduced for hair removal, the optimal parameters had not yet been determined, and,
Since the laser’s output was also weak, the primary method involved letting the hair grow out and then directing the laser energy along the hair shaft to destroy the hair follicles.
However, the parameters for lasers used for hair removal are gradually being established, and
As the laser's power increased, there was no longer any need to grow a beard on the skin.
(The melanin pigment in the hair follicles beneath the skin and in the portion of the hair extending above the skin is sufficient to trigger a reaction.)
The treatment is so powerful that immediately after the procedure, the hair in the hair follicles beneath the skin pops out onto the surface like popcorn.
(This is known as the "pop-out" phenomenon. It is explained in greater detail in Q5 below.)
On top of that, having a long beard actually made the pain worse, caused the beard to burn, and made it smell worse—it was nothing but drawbacks.
Therefore, 'It is best to shave' is recommended.
Q3. When should I shave after hair removal?
The timing of when to shave after hair removal varies from one day to about one week, depending on your individual hair growth. On average, it’s 5 days .
Shaving works by neatly cutting well-aligned hairs with a sharp blade.
However, because the hair is denatured by the powerful laser immediately after the procedure, it doesn't cut cleanly but gets caught in the middle with a "thud."
If you try to forcefully remove the hair at this point, you may injure your skin and cause bleeding.
Therefore, the best approach is to try shaving lightly after three days, and if that doesn't work, give up,
I also recommend trying again the next day. (You can usually shave around the fifth day.)
The key point to remember is to absolutely never!!!! force it.
Q4. How many times do I need to do this to get a smooth, hair-free result?
Generally, the percentage of hair that responds to a single hair removal session is around 10–30%.
Assuming a rate of 20%, the exponential decay values are as follows.

This can be represented graphically as follows.

In other words,
5 sessions During treatment, the medication 70% reductioncan be expected, and
10 sessions During treatment a 90% reductioncan be expected, and
15th During the procedure You can expectcan be expected.
Q5. It seems like my beard (or white beard) has grown back thicker after hair removal.
If you feel like your beard seems to have grown back darker after hair removal, it’s most likely due to the “popping-out” effect, which occurs immediately after the procedure.
When a high-intensity laser interacts properly with the hair,
1) Melanin in the hair absorbs energy
2) The moisture inside the hair instantly vaporizes at temperatures above 100°C
3) A steam explosion occurs inside the hair follicle
4) The impact causes the hair to stick out
This phenomenon is known as "popping-out."
You might wonder if it’s dangerous since water vaporizes at temperatures above 100°C, but,
Since this process takes place for a very brief period of less than 10 ms, it destroys only the hair follicles with virtually no damage to the skin.
In fact, this reaction is the key to laser hair removal.
The "popping-out" phenomenon, where objects pop out like popcorn
The fur is thinner, so it's not as strong as the top part, but it still pops out.
“In other words, the fact that the beard is slightly more visible is
"Physical evidence that actual damage occurred inside the hair follicle"
Additionally, due to the wavelength characteristics of the hair removal laser, it does not react to white hair.
However, sometimes people feel like they have more white hair after hair removal because their existing dark hair is gone, and
You can think of it as making the existing white beard more visible.
It might hurt, but plucking is the only way to get rid of white hairs.
In this three-part series, we’ve covered everything you need to know about the GentleMax ProPlus hair removal treatment.
