What are the different types of scars?

Even for the same type of acne scar, the cause and treatment methods vary depending on its shape.

Ice-pick scars

Ice Pick Scar

This is a narrow, deep scar that looks as if it were made by an awl. Although the scar appears small on the surface, the damage extends deep into the dermis, making it difficult to improve with surface treatment alone.

Rolling Scars

Rolling Scar

This is a wide, gently indented scar. Fibrous tissue beneath the dermis pulls the skin downward, creating an indented surface. Treatment is needed to break up the fibrous tissue.

Box-shaped scar

Box Scar

This is a flat, rectangular scar with well-defined edges. The edges require “shoulder” treatment to gently taper them.

Rather than appearing individually, these scars often coexist in various forms.

The 6 Key Pillars of Scar Treatment

Scars improve naturally when the following processes occur simultaneously: the release of fibrous tissue, restoration of dermal volume, surface remodeling, and promotion of regeneration.

Method 01

CureJet

Using a needle-free jet injector (NFJI) that delivers medication into the skin without a needle via a high-pressure spray method, the device delivers medication evenly to the scarred area. The high-pressure solution instantly penetrates the skin, creating a subcutaneous effect on dense tissue that loosens adhesions while simultaneously delivering the active solution without a needle.

Method 02

Erbium-Plexel

Using a laser with a wavelength of 2940 nm, it induces skin regeneration by causing microscopic thermal damage to the skin. It has a shorter recovery period than CO₂ Fraxel and is more effective at promoting regeneration.

Method 03

Sub-session

This procedure involves using a needle to sever the adhesions that are pulling the skin downward. It releases the scar tissue that was attached to the underlying tissue, allowing new tissue to fill the space and smooth out the surface. It is particularly effective for rolling scars.

Method 04

Shouldering

Gently shave down the edges of the depressed scar (at the shoulder area) to smooth out the edges. This is particularly effective for box-shaped scars with sharp, right-angled edges.
