Hyaluronic Acid Injections

Aqua Shine Injection

A “water injection” is a procedure in which hyaluronic acidis injected directly into the skin. This is not the official product name; rather, it is a term coined because the skin appears to be hydrated after the procedure.

Hyaluronic acid is a component naturally found in the dermis of our skin. It has binding sites throughout its chain that hold water, so when it settles in the dermis, it retains moisture at those sites.1)

While topical moisturizers work to slow the rate at which moisture evaporates from the outer layer of the skin, hydrating injections act like a well, directly replenishing moisturein the dermis beneath.

Why Aqua Shine

Three Reasons to Choose Hydration Injections

Topical moisturizers and moisturizers taken internally perform different functions in the skin
.

Hyaluronic Acid in the Dermis
01

These are components that are naturally present in the skin.

Hyaluronic acid is a component of the dermis’s extracellular matrix; it is not a foreign substance but something our skin naturally contains. It is known that its levels decrease with age, and hyaluronic acid injections work by filling in those depleted areas with the same substance. It is gradually broken down by enzymes in the body and disappears without leaving any residue.

* It has been reported that hyaluronic acid in the dermis gradually decreases after adulthood.

Hyaluronic Acid Water-Binding
02

It can lift hundreds of times its own weight.

Hyaluronic acid molecules are densely packed with sites along their chains that bind water. It is known that 1 gramcan hold up to nearly 6 liters of water, so even a small amount can significantly alter the moisture levels in the dermis. This is why tightness is the first symptom to improve.

* The actual amount bound depends on the molecular weight and the surrounding tissue environment.

Shallow-Layer Dispersion Injection
03

It’s not about filling it up, but about letting it soak in.

Even though it’s the same hyaluronic acid, its purpose differs from that of volume-enhancing fillers. Hyaluronic acid injections are administered in small amounts across a wide area in the superficial layers, and are used to evenly improve skin texture and hydration rather than to alter facial contours. This is why your facial contours remain unchanged immediately after the procedure.

Non-crosslinked & Crosslinked

It's the Same Hyaluronic Acid—So What's the Difference?

Depending on the degree of cross-linking of hyaluronic acid,
the duration it remains on the skin and its function vary.

NON-CROSSLINKED

Non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid

CROSSLINKED

Cross-linked hyaluronic acid

Structure
Hyaluronic acid in its natural, uncross-linked form
A structure formed by connecting chains to create a net-like pattern
Dosage Form
It's thin and spreads easily.
Because it is viscous, it remains at the injection site.
Duration
About 1– 2 months
About 6–1 2 months
Injection Depth
Apply small amounts over a wide area to the superficial dermis
In the form of lumps in the deep layers of the skin
Immediately after injection
There aren't many that bulge outward.
The raised area at the injection site remains.
Expected Effects
Tightness, dryness, and overall skin texture
Volume Enhancement, Wrinkle Filling

* Crosslinking: A processing method that creates bonds between hyaluronic acid chains to slow down the rate of degradation.

How It Works

How Hydration Injections Work

1
Mechanism of Action: Step 1

The injected hyaluronic acid is evenly distributed throughout the dermis

Hyaluronic acid, injected in small amounts into the superficial dermis, spreads throughout the extracellular matrix, creating a foundation that can retain moisture.

2
Mechanism of Action, Step 2

It attracts moisture from the surrounding area and holds it in

The hydrophilic structure of hyaluronic acid binds to surrounding moisture, helping to retain water within the dermis. As a result, the skin’s hydration level and viscoelasticity increase.

3
3-Step Mechanism of Action

The moisture-rich base provides internal support for the skin at

It helps keep the skin more hydrated and smooth. Hyaluronic acid is a key component of the extracellular matrix that is essential for the skin’s moisture retention and elasticity.

Treatment Areas

Treatment Areas for Hydration Injections

Use primarily on areas where you first feel tightness or where the skin has become rough.

Treatment Areas for Hydration Injections
Butterfly Zone 2.5 cc
Both cheeks 5 cc
Entire face (including the forehead) 7.5 cc

It can also be used on wrinkles on the back of the hands, neck, and other areas.
1 cc is sufficient to cover one side of a business card (9 cm x 5 cm).

Recommended For

We recommend this to people like this

For those who still feel tightness after washing their face and whose skin tends to get dry easily

For those with rough skin texture and
whose makeup tends to look patchy

For those whose fine lines appear more pronounced the drier their skin gets

For those who want to add a dewy glow to dull, dry skin with "
"

Not only the results, but also the difference in experience

The Episode Difference

Why It's Different

Every process has its own unique reason.

01

We recommend
only for procedures that are absolutely necessary.

Pre-Procedure Consultation

During the pre-treatment consultation, we assess whether your skin condition requires a hyaluronic acid injection, and proceed after determining the necessary dosage and treatment areas.

NECESSITY

02

We reduced the needle stimulation from
using 33G micro-needles.

33G Microneedles

For hyaluronic acid injections, we use 33G micro-needles to ensure the solution is injected in fine, evenly spaced doses into the target area. In fact, 34G needles are too thin for the hyaluronic acid particles to pass through.

COMFORT

03

The more treatment sessions you have, the more important it is to keep a record at
.

Online Treatment Report

Since the treatment is conducted over multiple sessions, we document the products used, their quantities, and changes in your skin in an online report after each session. The plan for the next session is also based on this record.

Notice

Please follow these guidelines after your procedure.

  • 1

Immediately after the procedure, you may notice slight swelling and redness at the injection site. These symptoms usually subside within a day, so please do not rub or press the area to try to make them go away.

  • 2

Please avoid wearing makeup on the day of your procedure. Wait at least 4 hours after the procedure before washing your face, and when you do, wash gently with lukewarm water.

  • 3

Please avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, and saunas for 24 hours after the procedure. Doing so may cause swelling and bruising to worsen.

  • 4

Swelling usually subsides within a day or two, and bruising usually fades within 1–2 weeks. Bruising around the eyes may last longer than in other areas.

  • 5

For one week after the procedure, please take special care to protect your skin from UV rays and keep it well-moisturized. It is best to avoid harsh exfoliation, peels, and steam treatments.

  • 6

Please be sure to inform us during your consultation if you have had a hypersensitivity reaction to hyaluronic acid products, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if there is inflammation or infection at the injection site.

  • 7

If you experience severe pain at the injection site, paleness, or changes in your vision, please contact the hospital immediately.
